Nature Walk

See that little nest in the middle of the top picture. I saw that when i was out walking the dogs the other day. That is in a little overgrown field next to our property. it is filled with birds, and things for Fred to roll in.
The bottom pic is at the ridge out the back of our property, looking out over the meadow. It is our little piece of paradise. I could sit out there all day in look at the birds. One of these days i will lug a chair out there, and my knitting or a book, and do just that. Henry LOVES to chase after KONG, running up and down the hills. He is part Mountain Goat.

Look Who is NINE today!!!

Happy Birthday Henry! Henry is nine today, and he is a very special dog. I could not have asked for a better dog. He is gentle, and loves all animals (except the squirrel, his archnemesis) and people. His favorite toy is KONG, and jingle balls. He is contentedly chomping on a jingle ball right now...brand new, tag still attached.
The husband and i got Henry when we lived overseas in Germany. Husband got into touch with a breeder in The Netherlands, and we had to make a decision...get a dog, or take a vacation to Portugal. Henry won! Henry has been to over 30 US states, and 8 countries in Europe. He is very well traveled, and loves to 'go with'.

My three favorites

Just thinking of my three favorites today. This pic was taken at Yosemite, on a little vacation that we took in October 06. Aren't they cute? Yes, the Vizslas go everywhere with us. They are wearing their seatbelt harnesses in this pic. They hates the seatbelt harnesses.

Fickle Beeyotch

See that there? That there is a fickle bitch. She will only start (without massive amounts of effort and swears) for my husband. She started for me today, and all was going well, and then she ran out of fuel. So...loaded up the houndies for a car car, got the fuel, filled her up, got her going, her bag fell off, so i turned her off and reattached it. Well, apparently i really ticked her off, because she would not start again. The husband called, and i swear she knew i was talking about her, because the minute i got off the phone with him, she started. She must have heard me say that i was going to push her off the cliff into the lake. Do you notice that even Fred is glaring at her in the picture?
Oh....want to guess what i am doing right now? Waiting for Fred's dose of hydrogen peroxide to kick in, so he vomits up the contents of the compost bowl, to include two days worth (maybe three?) of coffee grounds. Again. Second time in three days. I lead a glamorous life. Oh....here comes the vom.

We're a happy family, dammit.

Geez, even the dog is sticking out his tongue in this picture.

Ok, so here we are again about two weeks later, in front of the apple tree again. What is it with the dogs looking away from each other everytime i try and pose them for a picture? Such rebels.

The other pic is my new boots....and why i love them! I can tramp through puddles, long grass in the fields...no more excuses for not taking the dogs to the river. Henry is so thrilled.

The Apple Tree

Here is a pic of the boys in front of the apple tree at the beginning of May. That was pretty much the last sunny, warm-ish day of the month! They LURVE posing for photos, can't you tell?
